It is quite possible to buy glass that is resistant to bricks, hammers etc.
However some local yobo did try to sue our local authority when a brick he threw at a window bounced back and cut open his forehead.
Worth remembering that many of this type of building had wooden shutters rather than glass.

Not sure whether it is worth trying to be too secure as with this type of building, as a determined entrant can go through the roof or down the chimney. If you are not having too many fires, barbed wire can be stuffed up the chimney.
