I think I am even more confused.
The photo on the Sailing Swallow website shows a sail laced to the boom, and by putting a ruler along the projection of the mast, the boom extends beyond the mast.
The close-up of Swallow on the Thames shows a new boom and the sail is loose-footed, much brighter and appears to be new.
Are you saying that the 1974 sail survived and was/is smaller?
