The water around Peel Island gets reasonably warm in summer and Titty's rock makes a splendid diving platform. I've swum around the island, main problem is finding deep enough water around the NE end. Swimming to and from the island is quite practible in the summer but I'd recommend having a boat to accompany you; even if the water is o.k. the wind can get up and chill you. Someone drowned attempting this a few years ago.
