Yes, Peter, Pemmican/jerky/biltong is tasty, but I think that what the children were using was canned corned beef, which they were calling "pemmican", because it is more adventurous to eat pemmican. My opinion of canned corned beef is that it is somewhat inferior to the average dog food [not that I eat a lot of dog food!]. It was fed to soldiers as "Bully Beef", and they ate it because they were so hungry that they'd eat anything that was put before them.
