Hmm... I think they do age! They certainly DEVELOP.

As far as hormonal impulses are concerned... well it's not really the stuff of children- (or even family-) orientated entertainment of the day really!

I think a few people have spotted the odd subtle hint of such things (whether people are finding them because they're looking rather than them really being there, I don't know).

But there's no getting away from the fact that the Nancy of SA is very different from the Nancy of PM and GN (and the same is true of other characters). Some characters change less because they were surprisingly grown up to start with (I don't say 'surprisingly' as a euphemism for 'unrealistically' or whatever: Susan is a very 'grown-up' girl throughout but some girls are; but then even she develops quite a lot).

I was interested in the paper about Great Northern? in MM this time... I didn't agree with lots of it (!) and was quite unaware that there was a general anti-GN feeling amongst Ransomites... But it was interesting on the subject of the characters growing up.
