I'd do it the quick and dirty way; A/sin(a)=B/sin(b)=C/sin(c)

You know A (given) you know angles (b) and (c) so you know angle (a) by subtraction from 180, thus the rest is mechanical.

But I still don't understand how two people taking a sight from and between identical positions can get radically different bearings without doing it absolutely wrong.
