My 3-tonner is a bilge-keeler, drying out very comfortably twice a day. The ful-length keel is 9" wide and takes essentially all her weight, while the bilge keels simply stop her falling over one way or the other.

A very useful design for drying moorings, or indeed for shoal waters generally.
