It's a magnificent sunny day, and our doughty moderator is high on the fells resting on a rock having obtained a particularly satisfying score during the hunt for the emphereal Hodder Aqueduct Gates. Now it's time for a rest and half a dozen pints of "my usual, landlord" in " The Dipped Sheep" just a trifling 10 miles back down the mountain. Suddenly, there's a buzzing noise from his knapsack.
