Many thanks for advice, Jock. I simply don't understand how these things work - and frankly don't want to. Just use them. I have a link called 'Tar Text' which gets me to the listed posts as they appear. The interesting thing is that the TarBoard list of posts changes the order! So a post that had to appear after mine is listed before it. Oh well.

BUT - I assume (I know, I know, never assume because it makes an 'ass' out of 'u' and 'me'. Who coined that? Brilliant and perceptive.) that there is a TarBoard Committee of some sort of people who combine to manage all this for the benefit of us all. I suspect that you, Jock, must be a Member given the wisdom that you evince from time to time. Anyway, thank you, whoever you all may be, for your time and efforts on behalf of the rest of us.

But when a tranche of posts disappears - it is always unexpected and I have no idea WHY. Which gets to me. May I make a plea for the Committee to post a message saying, perhaps, 'List now being archived. Please see TarBoard index' - or whatever. Then I'd know. And perhaps there are others who don't wish to appear as silly as am I by asking but would be glad if things were explained a bit? After all, isn't TarBoard a meeting of equals? And we all have differing skills and knowledge. A diversity to be celebrated as people post their esoteric bits of knowledge to the interest and delight of the rest of us. Joe
