I think with the rapid development of the motor car in the 1920/30s, Rattletrap (a Trojan) was probably somewhat technologically dated.
However cars were not the consumer fashion accessory that they are now, Rattletrap would have lasted until it was uneconomic to repair.
This thread could lead us to speculate on Mrs B's age. In Shifting Camp in PP, she utters the phrase "when I was last up here, Rattletrap and all his kind had hardly been invented. (Say about 1900.)
Moving on the chapter heading "Shifting Camp" also appears in SD. Are there any other instances where AR uses the same chapter heading?
