No doubt in a real world Mrs Blackett would have reimbursed Mrs Tyson for the food that the children consumed, but these payments are not mentioned by Ransome and therefore they do not "exist". Had they been of importance, AR would have mentioned them.

It seems obvious from a reading of PP that Mrs T's sole and abiding concern was the danger of fire followed, at a distance I think, by fear that the children were going to drink unsafe water (hence Robin Tyson's visit to the camp). That is what Ransome wrote. All else is supposition, which is usually a personal projection reflecting the attitudes of the person speaking. As Jock put it - "Each draws the boundaries of what seems to be appropriate to post in an
individual way." Yes, fine, but what is the objective truth, the truth that exists independently of any of us? That can only be judged by what is in Ransome's text.
