I have been reading the books to Charles, now seven-and-eleven-months, as bedtime stories for the past year. At a chapter a night, the "twelve" take a bit over a year. I omitted "Peter Duck", "Missee Lee" and "Great Northern", then I went back, explained that Peter Duck was a made up story and read that. Yesterday Charles announced that, being in bed for the day with a cold, he had read the last four chapters himself at one sitting and taken "Missee Lee" from the bookshelf...
