Peter, I've been a little puzzled about the lack of discussion of these proposals. There wasn't much enthusiasm for the first one at the Midlands committee meeting. Most people thought that we needed smaller rather than bigger regions and couldn't see a Central region working given the distances involved. I don't think that I persuaded many though, that we should abolish regions all together.
