I am pretty sure that it was in the tin box with the barometer. He was treating it as a "chronometer", after all. He did not need to know the time when sailing to meet the Amazons and he would have been well aware of the dangers of taking it sailing.

I am assuming it was a cheap pocket watch; wrist watches were probably too expensive for a child in 1929. Does anyone know?
