It is 11.25 degrees between the nautical angles. So NW is 45 degrees and NNW is 22.5 degrees past NW or 67.5 degrees. NWb N is inbetween

The second problem is not trivial and is one of the major problems of survey as AR showed in SW. Two people looking at a compass or theodolite can see different results. Roger is not being Roger he is being human. Whilst I use a large angle shift - it is still a real problem that is discussed in SW by John Titty and Roger (I think on the first day of survey?)
Ed can you find the passage - sorry you do not have much to go on?

John
