I think that the reason that this never caught on is because it's necessary to subscribe to a Yahoo Group before you can access anything. A few brave souls did post material to this group and then attempted to post links on Tarboard. If you tried to follow the link, but weren't a member of the Group, you were redirected to the Group's subscription page. If you subscribed to the Group it was difficult to navigate to the original material.

The newer methods outined by I E-N and myself are open access and therefore links work instantly.

BTW, I have been known to crawl on my hands and knees and beg for permission to reprint material for "If Not Duffers... ."(See "The Cairn on Kanchenjunga" by AndyB.) So, if you buy me a pint or two, I just might consider hosting the odd photo or even article!
