Yes, indeed, but there is one group of his characters where, apparently, females needn't apply - the Death & Glories. Would anyone like to enter this minefield and say why they are all male? Is it because they are 'working class' and therefore girls would not 'fit in'? 'Class' meets 'gender' - complex issues!

Me? - Oh I just like to enjoy the books ;-)
