That is an odd coincidence; I used to cycle there, and spend my pocket money, and indeed the proceeds of the very occasional ten bob postal order, hiring a boat, when I was ten, in 1962.

It seems the boats were mostly smashed up when it closed; a pity, though one or two survive.

It was the former tide mill pound, of course, not that I knew that, then.
