Here they are readily available, with each state setting its own limitations on size & fire power. In my home state of Oregon, we are limited to fireworks that don't leave the ground for home use, but we can drive about 15 miles, into the state of Washington, to legally buy larger ones, which often end up being used in Oregon. We also can buy them for New Year's Eve. They are sold in grocery stores and variety stores. They don't sell to children under 18.

I would hate to see them banned because of injuries, but as a mother of four, the possibility of severe damage scares me. My kids have always had adult supervision.
