Anomalies and stretching the elastic a bit too far

Our examination of the SA series has been quite insightful. Previous
attempts to cover this on TarBoard have progressed little further than
'my favourite/least favourite book is X, what's yours?' This time
round we've looked at why a particular book appeals/fails to appeal
to particular TarBoarders with quite interesting results. I wonder if
anyone else would be interested in pursuing this line inquiry on the
next level of detail down - particular passages, rather than particular
books.

Because AR's writing is so realistic, most times he manages to carry
us with him, our 'suspension of disbelief' intact when his text asks
too much of us or is just incongruous. Does anyone else have difficulty
with particular passages that they consider to be a stretch too far?
