Well spotted. But it's very different from the first person stuff in SA, and much easier to take. AR doesn't, so to speak, bust the proscenium arch. He just treats the story as being in the factual world.

I don't know about you, but for me one of the great attractions of the books is that they feel real anyway; many of my impressions of England in the '30s, valid or not, come from the books.
