I believe it is mentioned at one point in the books, but I can't seem
to recall where: what ever happened to Bob Blackett? I think he was in
a mining accident, but this may be my imagination. It's interesting that
neither the father of Swallows or the Amazons are present in their lives
to any great degree, as Ransome was not present for much of Tabitha's.
