Yes, I was thinking of PD where Roger is 7˝, so he would be older in ML, in which he is top in Latin. According to SD, PD is a story told in the wherry over the previous Christmas and is set between SA and SD. Is ML dated in relation to the other stories, apart from being set after SA because the Swallows know the Amazons and have Gibber and Polly? And after PD because of the Wild Cat.
All the S, A & Ds go to single-sex boarding schools (even Roger), though could they be grammar rather than “public” (in the English sense, ie private) schools?
To finish on a Latin joke about private schools from the Readers Digest:
A father gets the bill from his son’s school, and by mistake it reads “per anum” instead
of “per annum”. He replies that he prefers to continue paying through the nose!
