And I'll go along with Hilary and David, too. I once read the whole series chronologically, taking particular note to see whether there was a more logical sequence in which to read them; but I came to the conclusion that any sequence other than chronological would leave the reader, as reading progressed, in advance of him/herself on some occasions and faced with unbridged gaps on others.
