Annette 2 starred in Coles' first (?) book, "Closehauled," too. This was his account of the voyage home from the Baltic to Britain, after he bought Racundra from AR. Not a bad book, but I much prefer her First Cruise.

I understand that the renaming was at AR's insistence -- that a condition of the sale was that if Coles were to write about Racundra anywhere she was not to be identifiable as herself. Perhaps after he'd made her famous, AR didn't want his readers to know what a scurvy knave he'd been to sell her.
