Well it would be nice to compare recipies and see if my pig trotters are missing any key ingredients. I note that no British or American readers have joined this thread so I assume that they are all horrified at the thought of eating jellied trotters.

You are lucky to have had so many Ransome books translated into Czech. I'm in Poland at the moment (pigs trotters are regarded as a special delicacy over here) and they only ever had SA, SD and PD translated into Polish.

I learnt my marine terminology by reading Ransome, but take care one of the "Give way rules" has been revised since Ransome wrote the books. A good reference book for sailing terms is Sailing by Knight. It is mentioned by Ransome and you can find it by following the link below.
