Hang on!!! Just because someone chooses only to read the entries on Tarboard rather than join in/write a reposte/response, doesn't mean that they are somehow below the salt, so to speak!!! A lot of the stuff that arrives on TarBoard I have no real interest in on a personal basis (I really don't care desperately about the plumbing at Beckfoot, for example, nor know enough about said topic to contribute sensibly) but that doesn't mean that I don't appreciate the somewhat robust discussions that *do* take place. I read, like anyone else with a newspaper etc, those things that appeal to me (that's the reason for the subject line, I'd assume) and respond or not as the mood takes me. I'd also say ditto to the pub conversation referred to by Jock. (a) in this case, it is someone else's conversation and I was always taught that it was somewhat rude to shoe-horn yourself into such a sitiation and (b) this assumes that all pub comversations are so rivetting that the world is desperate to take part!! So don't be so disparaging about those that may lurk (in the computer sense). Be a bit more welcoming. Responding should not be requirement of logging onto Tarboard - that makes it a bit less fun - and above all AR should be fun, I'd have thought!!!
