On CF’s travels, from the description of the labels on the cabin trunk in SA (Chapter 28) he had been to Egypt, the Mediterranean, Peking, San Francisco, Buenos Ayres, London, Rangoon, Colombo, Melbourne, Hong-Kong, New York, Moscow and Khartoum. The trunk has his initials “J.T.” in the middle of the lid, Could it have belonged to his father?

Study items from his travels are mentioned as well in PP (Chapters 11,33), PM (Chapter 19), WH (Chapters 8,14,21) and houseboat items in SA (Chapter 25). So Africa (assegai, spears & shields), Omdurman, Shanghai, and the Malays also.

From the trunk labels, he was a passenger, “P and O. First Cabin”, though he tells Roger (SA Chapter 26) that being a ship’s boy (ie a crew member) is a hard life.

He mentions his travels in SD (Chapter 7) when he says that his last patch was for a ship’s gig off the coast of Java “Shouldn’t be here if it had” (leaked), and in ML (Chapter 17) he says that he had seen a similar very high footbridge in the Himalayas.

CF telegraphs from Pernambuco, he & Timothy had met in South America (PP Chapters 11,35). Timothy says he and CF were wanted by the police in Peru (PM Chapter 21)

But no way of working out a chronology or order!
