Don't apologise though - I'd never given a thought to ownership of lakes, and certainly that the lake bed was an issue, until I read your (and others) posts. A pond or small lake on one persons land is obvious, but when it increases in size! So what of rivers? It passes through all kind of lands, even across national borders, so can anyone ever claim to own a whole river - from source to the sea?
