So, if I were to helicopter to the top of one of your local prominent geographic features, it would cease to be a mountain, since I was able to ascend it "in one day without benefit of crampons, an ice axe, tents,
oxygen and Sherpas". Contrariwise, scaling Capitol Hill in downtown Washington, DC with all the aforementioned, starting from the Chesapeake Bay would qualify it as a mountain?

Merriam-Webster defines a mountain as:

1 a : a landmass that projects conspicuously above its surroundings and is higher than a hill b : an elongated ridge

No Sherpas (which I doubt you use locally, either), ice axes, or crampons involved. Just a significant elevation difference.
