Anyone,
In WH, Peggy rouses the Swallows in the morning, so they can return
to the Fram to see how the D's fared overnight. Roger, splashing
around in the wash basin, calls out, "Could you hear my bubbling?
Practicing diving. In the basin. Picking up my collar stud under
water. In my teeth." Now I know what a collar stud is, but I find it
hard to believe that the Walker boys were actually wearing collars
and studs while on the type of active holiday they usually had. Was
it common at that time for young boys to wear collar studs?
