Fogs

I have noticed how often AR relies on fog or mist to carry forward his
plots. Swallowdale, Peter Duck, We Didn't Mean to go to Sea and Coot
Club all feature fogs. Any perceptive comments in this? All I do is
point them out, leaving the analyses and perceptive comments to
others. Maybe Ed can enumerate the number of times the word "fog" or
"mist" occures in AR's works.
