Sorry, Ed, y'all being a mite unrealistic here. First, I doubt if the brochure would have been much different if it had been produced in the UK. What you are not taking into account is the fact that the books of Beatrix Potter, for instance, have been relentlessly publicised on both sides of the Atlantic for years, with spin-offs galore and associated 'product'. There have been clothes and toys etc, and in an area I know something about, Wedgwood the china firm have been making 'Peter Rabbit' tablewares for 20 years and they sell hundreds of thousands of them - big business. Ransome's books have, by comparison, not been exploited at all.

And that is why the public 'awareness' of AR is low, compared with B Potter and Wordsworth (which everybody does at school). Would we want it any other way? Not me - I reckon the absence of AR awareness in 'Lake Tour' brochures is the price we pay for keeping AR's name dignified and unexploited. I am happy to pay that price, and so should you be, Ed.
