One almost wonders, since book titles per se can't be copyrighted, whether film-makers simply pick the title from a book they know has sold well, then make up their own film under the same title with the expectation that the tile will help sell the film to unsuspecting viewers....
Didn't Ridley Scott buy the film rights to two books in order to make a film with the title of one (Blade Runner) and the plot of another (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?)?
