Can anyone suggest an autobiographical Ransome background to explain the very end of MISSEE LEE, where the Chinese junk ( sailed with minimum detail all the way from the China seas!) appears in St. Mawes harbour?
Those of us who spent childhood holidays messing about in boats, and more particularly St. Mawes One Designs, in and around the Fal Estuary, were thrilled by this tiny affirmation from AR. And looking at his sketch, he was definitely there at some point.I'd love to hear some feedback on this.
And how about a TARS gathering in Falmouth on 19th July, 1998, to coincide with the Tall Ships Race?
I'm not yet a TARS member, so maybe this is all inappropriate?
