Hang on, let's get serious. There was an interesting article in Mixed Moss a few years ago in which the author revealed that Benjamin Britten had a particular fondness for Swallows and Amazons and the sequels and that he was eager to base a children's opera on one of them. I personally think that the combination of Britten's music and AR's story would have been superb (think of the Sea Interludes), but of course it didn't happen. The author of the article was Robert Thompson, a TarBoarder (-ista?), and I hope he doesn't mind me mentioning this.
