Peter Ceresole - you have completely misread my post. I was not referring at all to misbehaviour on TarBoard - that is dealt with on the lines you mention and which Ian confirms below. As you will see, the thread was re-titled 'Is all science on-topic?' indicating that I was concerned with the limits of 'on-topicality'. I get uncomfortable with this vague policy of 'well we do wander off from time to time'. The problem is that some of of us try to keep strictly to AR-related themes, others don't. My view is that sticking to theme is a courtesy owed to the moderator of the board who, for reasons which he must have felt worthwhile, calls it 'An Arthur Ransome Discussion Forum'. I personally feel that to introduce a scientific topic which is not mentioned anywhere in Ransome on the grounds, e.g., that 'Dick might have been interested in it' is a step too far and a discourtesy to Ian.
