The meeting took place on Aug 26 1947 and the next day 3 generations of Wells were aboard 'Peter Duck. Two days later the Ransomes were aboard 'Windflower,"the Wells' boat.
PD was at Mersea for the winter 1947-8, all of 1948 and until July 1949 during which time AR did no sailing. He had one short sail and never sailed PD again. It's all in Ransome at Sea.
