I agree with Laurence that dowsing seems to work but, like Dick, what I can't understand is why no one has explained it scientifically. With the present knowledge of how the human body and brain work, and of magnetic and other forces, surely someone can come up with a plausible theory? Or do we have to fall back on superstition?
I admit that my scepticism may be partly due to the fact that the rods don't work for me. What is it that is missing in my case, and others like me (eg 3 Swallows, 2 Amazons and 2 D's)? It is nothing to do with mental attitude, as we saw with Titty, who wasn't expecting anything to happen. It isn't a question of 'having faith'. AR sidesteps this one - wise man!
