It was obviously a big renovation project. It would not be unusual for plumbing fittings to be replaced with more modern ones during renovation, however such changes were probably limited as there is no mention of disruption to the use of the bathroom.
Here's a thought: Maybe Beckfoot had TWO bathrooms (Ducks for cover and runs...)
And then again, AR studiously avoided mention of bathrooms unless absolutely necessary.
