To me, the forum is for people who, for whatever reason, are interested in, not necessarily 'all', but some 'things Ransome'. I read Tarboard because I recognise that the people who post here are, to some extent, kindred spirits. It is like the Swallows realising that the Amazons are similar people to themselves. I haven't had the time to research the minutiae of the S & A canon, nor do I own, nor sail, a sailing dinghy (although I sailed Mirrors and Herons as a child), and I bow to those who do and have. If a thread bores me I don't read it all, or may dip in and out.
It is the knowledge that the only reason that posters are here, rather than on another site, is a shared interest that makes ALL topics (potentially) interesting.
