How old do we reckon Molly Turner was in 1901? She was accompanied up the Matterhorn by Bob Blackett - were they childhood sweethearts? Nancy wasn't born until - is it 1919? If MT was fully adult in 1901, then Nancy and Peggy were very late children. The Matterhorn party had difficulty getting away from the G.A., which means that they all can't have been that grown-up.

(By the way, I was there on Saturday, and I certainly agree with Robert that it was a memorable and well-organised climb. I went up alongside 'Bonnie', a golden labrador, who never ran short of breath once, unlike me)
