Peter H,

I enjoyed your Mixed Moss article- keep up the writing. You are great at helping us see AR and the Swallows, Amazons, and D's in a more throrough way.

Somehow I always felt that there was more to the missionaries (The Eels' parents) than an ordinary pleasant couple of grownups. This took me back to the text (at midnight, mind you!), where I got to enjoy once again that wonderful tea party, with all of the explorers and savages disguised as "ordinary pleasant children." Sure enough, while the female missionary sees the Swallows and Amazons as the politest children I've ever met,, the male missionary responds Too polite to be good. Daisy's up to one of her games. Clearly, the Eels aren't putting over quite so much as they think on their parents.
