'PC' (horrible misused term!)

Whilst I agree with Mike that the term 'PC' is frequently misused, and in that case can be thought of as 'horrible', when 'PC' is used accurately I think it is a brilliant summing up of a certain attitude. I suggest that, essentially, 'PC' means an over-zealous attempt to regulate things superficially or cosmetically, in the mistaken belief that you are doing good at a deep level. You merely succeed in annoying everyone. That is why the cliche 'PC gone mad' is so irritating - PC behaviour is 'mad' to start with, and doesn't need to go anywhere.
