Yes, and your mention of the Rawdon Smith Trust owning the lake bed is interesting, because the Rawdon Smiths were the late Pauline Marshall's family. It seems (from Pauline's book, 'Where It All Began') that the Rawdon Smiths did not own Lanehead, nor Tent Lodge. How they (or their Trust) came to acquire the bed of Coniston Water, it's difficult to discover.
